Christmas Time!!!

Man time sure is flying by! Sorry I haven't posted to the blog in like forever!!!

Jayden is now 6 months old and so much fun! I can't believe how fast he is growing. We are trying to just really enjoy each stage he is going through! He is such a good baby! We are so spoiled with him! :) He started sleeping through the night at about 2 months and has been pretty much doing so ever since. He is also a good eater. He is just starting on solids, but he loves them!

For Christmas this year we went home at the beginning of December to spend time with the family and celebrate the holidays and then we went up to Sacramento, CA to spend Christmas with our friends. We had a great first Christmas with Jayden! :)

We officially live in Cali!!!

Well we are now residents of sunny California! Jayden did amazing on the trip down! Slept most of the time! :) I was really dreading the trip down, but it really wasn't bad at all! It took us 2 days and my parents went with us. We drove the 4 runner and a 26 foot penske truck with the Caliber behind it. We stopped in Portland and Sacramento to eat at restaurants we had seen on Diners Drive ins and Dives and it was great! All in all it was a fun trip!

We are PARENTS!!!

We are PARENTS!!!!! I can't believe I am saying that! It has been a whirlwind the last 2 months, but we would trade it for anything. We have a wonderful little baby boy that is now a part of our family and we love him soooo much!!! We are happy to introduce Jayden James Pierce Johnson!

We got a match call from the agency mid April and the birth mom was due at the end of May! We were excited but cautious at the same time due to our past experience. During that time we prepared, but didn't get our hopes up. Her due date came and went and then we got a call that induction had been scheduled for June 3, 2012. We made arrangements and headed out to GA. After the induction on the night of June 3, 2012 we went back to the hotel to wait. Then around 10am June 4, 2012 we got the call that he had arrived! We couldn't believe it had happened so fast! We got dressed and rushed to the hospital to meet our son! :) We knew it was right given he was born on our  year wedding anniversary. :)

We spent a week total in GA, which was amazing that the process went so quickly. Then headed to CO to see the family for about 2 weeks and then it was back to WA to get ready for the move to CA!!

Another Garage Sale!!!

We decided it would be a good idea to have another garage sale! It is a good way to raise money for the adoption and a good way to get rid of all of our "extra stuff" before the move.  We will also be accepting donations for the sale if you have any.

The sale will be next weekend!

CJ and I have decided to move ourselves to CA. We will make money in the end, so we thought it was the best decision. It is a lot of work though. We move in about 2 months and I am getting a good start now. It may seem too soon, but it's not. It is going to take a while. As I am packing I am also getting rid of a lot of stuff, sot that will help out a lot. So I have been selling stuff like crazy!!! There is a facebook group here in our area that is like an online garage sale! It has been my best friend lately! Well I better get back to it!!!

PS Sorry I haven't blogged much lately, but I am trying to get back to it! :)

Delayed Update

Sorry it has been so long since we updated! It has been crazy around here. So many things have been going on since the last update. First of all we are moving to CA in July so that is very exciting. So the last week of March we went out to CA for a small vacation with CJ's family in NewPort Beach and we were also able to head up to Ventura area where we will be moving and visit our friends in San Diego so that was a great trip! The last big news is that we had another failed adoption attempt. :( We were put in touch with a birth mom through facebook, so it was a private adoption not through our agency. Anyway we started talking in November and she was due mid April. Things were going well and we were in constant contact. Then towards the end of February she had the baby almost 8 weeks early. We continued to talk about the adoption and she still sounded positive. Then at the end of March when it came time for him to leave the hospital she decided she wanted to try and parent. It was hard to go through that again, but we were more prepared this time to deal with it. So now we are just waiting again! Please pray for our journey. Thank you!!!

Small Update.

Well just wanted to let you all know that we sent in our fingerprints again yesterday. Can't believe we had to do that again. But our home study won't expire till May 30th so hopefully we won't need to renew that.

Anyway I am watching our friends baby this week and next. Little Mason is such a cutie! It has been fun having him here with me the last few days!

Almost a Year!!!

It has almost been a year since we started our adoption journey! It is so crazy! We are a bit surprised that we are still waiting. It has been a very long year for us and we are excited that a new year has now begun! We got word a few days ago that our FBI background checks will be expiring on February 28th! We can't believe that we are going to have to start working on updating all of our information for our home study! Please continue to pray for us and our situation! Thank you!!!

The Holidays

The Holidays were quite for us this year! We were here in WA for all of them, which is a first! We spent Thanksgiving with some friends which was very nice. For Christmas we spent it just the two of us. It was really laid back and relaxed. We watched the Broncos and went to church on Christmas Eve and then came  home and watched a movie before bed. On Christmas Day we played the Wii, watched movies and ordered pizza!!! It was very different but fun to be together. Then for New Years we just stayed home and watched the New Years programs on TV. We missed be able to spend time with family, but enjoyed the relaxation as well. We can't wait to have a crazy busy holiday season next year. And God willing we will have a little Johnson to spend it with us! :)

I know there hasn't been much action on the adoption blog for a while, but there hasn't been much going on sadly. We are just hoping and praying that we are matched very soon! Anyway we have a new fundraiser!!! One of our good friends, Megan Ward, here in Washington is doing this one for us. She is making and selling Christmas Cards! All proceeds go to our Adoption Fund! We are so thankful for this since we lost so much money in our failed adoption in July. Get your orders in now - 1 for $5 or 5 for $20. Megan can customize them to your liking and can also do Birthday, Anniversary, and any others type of cards you may be interested in! To order contact Megan (
